skinning rig

I was wonder if someone could explain the best way to create a skinning rig and how to connect it to your animation rig. Thanks for any help.
The only thing that your required to do each day is wake up after that everything else is extra credit....

the simplest approach could be to have the skinning rig match the puppet rig in regards to joints (ie - joint count, joint orientation, joint naming for consistency sake). Then once you have the skinning sweetened to your satisfaction you create constraints from the puppet rig's joints to their corresponding joints in the skinning rig. Then when you animate or pose the puppet, the skinning rig will follow right along.

Use animExport, and animImport for selected bones. And like matt said, make sure the joints match up and naming. (fbx works also)
