Simple Dispacement, need help please.

I am trying to use a displacement to cut out the circumference of a disc. I have attached a image to show what I am trying to achieve. As you can see the displacement leaves the very edge undisplaced. Can anyone suggest how I could get the results I need using a displacement map.

If it helps, here is a link to my simple Maya file:

Thanks in advance..

I was unable to reproduce your issue, however I did not get what you are intending either. When I rendered the scene, the sides of your disc were heavily displaced towards the radial center. From your angle it looked like two paper thin discs with the center ridge (top and bottom surfaces of your mesh, but no sides).
