use color (display colors) and cloners

Hi, im trying to use a single material driven by the display color of the geometry inside the cloner, instead of a separate material for each column. My question is... how can I do this because regardless of the material assigned, the cloner overrides the display color of the geometry inside it.

The initial color is assigned to the clones by the cloner. It's the color you see in the Transform tab.
If you want to override that, you need to use a mograph color shader or multi sheer and depending on the way you set up your clones, either use color or index.
One simple way to do that, is to assign a Step effector with only the color parameter on (Color Mode), and it will assign different luminance values to each clone.
Then, in your material, use a multi shader, with 3 color shaders, and use Luminance to drive that channel.
Sample attached. I have colonized the Specular using a multi shader.

in this example, I am using a random effector to colonize the clones. This color is stored in the internal Display Color parameter (make them editable and see).
Then I'm using a "Display Color" shader to colonize the specula's again.

Thanks! it worked perfectly using multishader + index ratio
