R20 question: autodeleting points when deleting polys optional?

The other R20 thread is going a bit wonky so thought I'd ask here.

I see theres a new feature that auto-deletes points--which is a nice feature.
Occasionally, when working with the pose morph tag, I might need to remove polys from an object but still wish to keep the points present so not to mess up the pose morph animation.

Is autodeleting points an option that can be turned off and on if we wanted?

Thanks!

According to the tutorials, you can switch between delete/not delete by pressing Shift.
Also, you can invert the behavior in the Preferences.
