Snap was one of the first things I added to the Red9 pack, mines a python plugin using the OpenMaya getTranslate/rotate but the key is to also deal with any offsets in pivots between objects in the process. I still can't believe there isn't a simple snap function in Maya, god knows it's been requested enough times on the Beta forums.

The code itself is pretty simple and in the StudioPack it's wrapped not just as a simple snap but also as a full hierarchy snap so you can do the same thing on entire rigs, by passing world space in the process.

Hi Mark-J,

That's the solution I was looking for, works in all situations and its simple.

Thanks so much for sharing that. Great work on your tool set as well!

Cheers.
