full figure in progress

I'm working on zbrushing my first full figure. This is my progress from today, having roughed in most of the anatomy and the hands (the feet haven't really been started). I'm planning on it being a SF type of character.

I'm also using a custom palette.

new figure

this one I'm not totally satisfied with on the anatomy or especially the armor, but it's progress.

I think I started with too much detail too soon, before understanding the larger forms

The hands came out half decent.

getting a little better on the realistic polypainting, but the material shaders kind of suck

finish with armor

I thought I could just make up some cool armor on the fly with the topology brush, but man that was a lot more difficult than I could have imagined. Perhaps as I get more fluent with Zbrush or maybe I need to make sure I work from a concept sketch beforehand.
