Parts of texture disappearing on Mesh Combine

Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to Maya and am slowly going through a number of tutorials, currently i'm trying to rig a quadruped I got off the net and i'm having a bit of a problem with the mesh, it seems I can't post attachments for this so i'll try and describe it as best I can.

Essentially this canine has a number of spikes on its back that get textured normally, it also has a set of teeth which aren't attached to the mesh so i'm selecting the teeth, positioning them, shift selecting the main character then doing mesh combine.

At which point any textures protruding from the canine(the spikes) disappear, the mesh is still there but textured character appears to have holes in it where the spikes were.

This also happens if I try and do a simple bind skin to the rig i've created.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Marc

Choose 'No Merge (UV sets)' from the mesh combine options.
