FAST SSS blotches - need to submerge an object

So as per the woes in this thread

I'm having a similar problem - these blotches are caused by intersecting objects with the SSS material.

Except my job calls for the model to intersect with water!

Anyone have any experience with this?

Never had that issue. All I can suggest is the obvious, import it into a new scene with proper scale. Adjust your scale conversion factor.

It is and I have.

Solution appears to be using the SSS2 shader and turning global illumination off and sticking with FG.

You need to use the SSS2 shader.
