New To Zbrush I have a Quick Question

Im going to talk about some of my problems im having, When u want to subtrack the clay how would u do that. Ive tried using alt but it seems to take it away in a weird way. I want to be able to make something and take it back to how it was. Im trying to learn how to control modeling so i know what im going to be doing befor i make a moive. Im kind of guessing now

Not 100% sure wat you are trying to do, but going on the basis of this....

"I want to be able to make something and take it back to how it was."

try setting a morph target and using the morph brush to paint things back to the original form ...assuming you only want to work parts of it back to the original that is.
