Spline Effect Camera Question

Hey everyone. Im very new to this but I am very eager to learn!
My question is related to an issue I am having with the camera and I will try to explain it the best that I can.

I am trying to create an effect where objects fly into the screen from behind a camera and organize itself into something. This seems like an easy two step process that I cant get around.

Step one: key frame the objects behind the camera at frame 0 (spline effect strength is 0)

Step two
: key frame the objects after organizing itself into the screen at frame 45 (spline effect strength 100)

However, after I key frame step one and then move the frame to 45, the strength of the spline effect no longer works... I can still move the strength from 0-100, but the objects will not move into the screen and will continue to stay behind the camera. The only time the strength works (where Im able to move the objects in and out the screen from 0-100 strength) is at keyframe 0.

I apologize in advanced if I did a horrible job explaining or if this is not the way to ask a question. Thanks for any help!
