How do I snap things into straight lines?

I want all those verts to line up with the top and bottom straight line, I've messed around with snapping but I just can't get them to do what I want.

Try grabbing the vertices you want, put on snap to grid (Hold X) and move them to a grid line, they will then all be on that grid line then you can move them down to where you want.

Hey Robert,

In Maya at least, this also an issue.

I usually use the scale tool in one axis several times to shrink them to a line in your desired viewport.
Then you can use the snap to grid tool properly.

Does this help?
