Akira Fan Art, Thitipon Dicruen (2D)

Title: Akira Fan Art
Name: Thitipon Dicruen
Country: Thailand
Software: Photoshop

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
I would like to share one of my recent work did for a demonstation for a digital painting course's project.(I spent 2 hours for demonstation by just capturing overall composition ,mood and tone.Photo references were used. But it was not complete yet. Then later I decided to spend a long long night to finish it.)
This is fan art done for educational and 'to have fun' purpose. The project picked up Akira aimation film (1988) to be remade as scifi live action movie look, focusing on painting techniques and painting skill so the design part is not so important in this case. However the characters need to be redesigned to have realistic look as the original version is manga.

Crits and comments are welcome.I really like to know what you think about my version of Tetsuo. It's very old Animation I know but I still hope somebody here used to see it though.

Good re-interpretation, indeed.
Personally I always fond of looking others practice pieces; I find them entertaining, since they are results of experimenting and learning phases, with their several minor issues from which easier to learn by "reading" it. Cool!
Interesting that you made a more mature version of Tetsuo, but with the lack of any "evil" expression/depressive feature that referring to his antagonist role. Anyway, I like the overall composition and palette, however it's a shame that you used font-type numbers, instead of painting them, imho. Those and some other part of the picture just make the PS too obvious, what reduces the overall feeling (value?). But I want to emphasize that this only my personal opinion here...
Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
- observe... it can only achieved by understanding -
