[VRay/Maya] Foggy/Milky Liquid Shader Help!

I am trying to make a shader for a tomato-based soup like the one in this picture. It needs to be translucent and somewhat milky or foggy.


I have tried VrayFastSSS2 material, I have tried blending an SSS with a water material, I have tried playing with the fog in VrayMTL's refraction menu. I have gotten nothing really.

I was thinking if I could have a clear liquid layer over a container that was holding environment fog I could get the effect that I am looking for. Or is there a way I can control the SSS to be nearly see through?

Anyone help?
