Wing Designer / MAX rigging tools - Overview

Wing designer is a set of Maxscript modules for creating and rigging feathered wings.
This is a quick overview of how it works.
The first public release will be available by end of June.
Feel free to leave your suggestions below on any additional features that may help TDs and animators alike in creating and using wings created with these tools

Hello,

That's a really nice system, it sort of reminds me of Paul Neale's because it's created with SplineIK and uses flexing and bending.

I think a mirror mode would be a nice addition to set up the left side identically to the right (or vice versa).

You said that this tool would be available soon, will it be released commercially or for free?

Again, really nice tool,
Thanks,
-Harry

Hey Hazmondo,
The implementation of the main tool is definitely inspired by Paul Neale's system as it seemed the most flexible and scalable.
As for the mirroring option, you can already create both left and right sides in one go.
The performance tools allow you to select the root and mirror the entire wing pose or parts of it to the other side.

Regarding availability, It will be released commercially for a very reasonable price and a Lite / Demo version will be available for free with some limitations.
