Strange world rotation on FBIK char in Maya

I have created a fbik character in Motion Builder. (skeleton/mesh/skining done in Maya 2013). When I import the charachter into maya. When Iam rotatoing the character controls in World space. They donít behave as I had hoped to.
Rather in some kind of mirrored way. What have I missed?
