ebook cover help
I'm working on the cover for an ebook right now, and I'm in the finishing stages. The author likes where it is right now, but I want to do some more fixes for my own personal education/improvement. I know that there are quite a few imperfections here, but I'd appreciate it if you all could point out the most glaring ones to me, and most importantly those that you think can still be salvaged with a minor paintover.
Thanks in advance for any critiques!

The features of the faces aren't modeled properly--you need to use proper reference in order to make them look more credible. For example the noses seem to lack defined planes to their forms.
You also need to use proper reference for the anatomy/figures. The girl's neck and hands look stiff and lack convincing detail or proper structural form.
The background feels tacked on instead of carefully composed as part of the scene that works with the overall composition. The composition in general is also not very interesting, lacking a sense of visual design for the whole image.
The lightning hands don't look quite right--it almost looks like you switched styles to a more comic book/graphic look.
