TITLE
VFX ASSET GENERALIST - GROOMER [JR-MID]

JOB SUMMARY
The VFX Asset Generalistís focus will be on hair/fur grooming using modeling and texturing skills to create assets for production team. Work must be photorealistic, with accuracy, detail, and function. Working with the in-house pipeline the Asset Generalist is able to solve technical issues independently.†

RESPONSIBILITIES
Create photoreal hair and fur grooms to be used on our digital doubles and creatures
Create high quality models and UVs for use in production; implement improvements/changes based on review feedback and Supervisor/Lead direction.
Create photoreal textures, both hand painted and from set photography to a level of detail necessary for hero CG assets.
Work within the defined pipeline.
Ensure continuity and support other asset departments such as texture, lookdev, Generalists and rigging
Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Work independently on defined tasks, but in collaboration with artists and supervisors in modeling, shading and lighting during the look development process.
Learn and adapt to new workflows and methods.
Make technical and creative adjustments/improvements based on guidance and review notes from leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Working knowledge of Maya required.
Excellent knowledge of Zbrush and/or Mudbox.
Mari,3ds Max, V-Ray, Nuke a plus
Xgen experience is a plus
Excellent technical trouble shooting skills and problem solving abilities.
Experience working on creatures, digi doubles, topology and blend shapes. (preferred)
Eye for detail and able to QA own work to ensure highest quality before handing off assets.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills; experience working under tight deadlines.
Strong written + verbal communication skills.
Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Clear understanding of color space, shading, lighting, and rendering methodologies
Familiarity with digital photography
BA/Diploma in area of Digital Arts (preferred)
