Certain areas can't be painted

I am a beginner at Mudbox, and i get this problem when i try to paint my character that has been exported from 3ds max (send to=>mudbox).
Some areas can't be painted, as you see in the following images and i couldnt figure out what the problem is.
Your help would be appreaciated.

PS: only the painted area is visible as the others are hidden.
Uv 2048x2048, minimum 4 pixels between different uv areas.

have you tried Creating UV's inside mudbox and then painting? i''ve noticed it helps to do that, even if you've already created them in 3ds Max.

Thank you both very much. It seems that the problem has been solved. I subdivided it four times, after i've unckecked the "smooth positions" option and now i am able to draw on the model properly.
