Upgrading from 2008 to 2013?

Hello,
Thinking migrating to 2013 from 2008 if it's not going to be too much of a pain. Which already finding some issues. Part of that being having to change backburner from 2008.1 to 2013 since 3ds Max 2013 can't use BB 2008.

We render in Mental Ray in Max
Hair rendering using scanline then composited

Now rending the same file Using MR in both versions has different outcomes. Background, shirt and shorts stay mostly the same but the skin shader looks much different. Did something in Mental Ray change to cause this?

Not sure if the migration will be beneficial.

Thanks,
-=Chris

i cant say about mental ray - but 2008 is for sure not as good as 2013 in many aspects
(after you fiddle a bit with the configs files to remove all the new dotnet crimes)

Looks like it is just a gamma issue.

Thanks I will look more into the gamma and textures.

I have Gamma/LUT Correction off and the same in Max 2013. In the rendered image from Max 2013 only the objects Using SSS Fast Skin are a little washed out. The same file from Max 2008 rendered in Max 2009 looks identical to the max 2008 version.

Thanks,
-=Chris
