Question how to creat pointcloud from vray!

Hi,

Today I have been searching for a way to create point cloud from vray renders(Im trying to analyze blind spots of camera!). and I have found this tut:
https://vimeo.com/11074371
which is talking about using vraysampleinfo in VRayExtraTex pass and combine with rgb pass in nuke to achive point cloud of image.
I was wondering is it any way to use this or any other method to export point cloud from vray renders and re importing them in 3ds max as a mesh or poing cloud?
I will so apperciate your helps.

Best wishes,
Farrokh

Interesting! So it's like having a virtual laser scanner.

As far as I know, Max can't import or export pointclouds without a plugin. Autodesk had one available called Helix, but it has since been made unavailable. I think there are a couple commercial solutions around that you can probably find with a little quick googling.

I know max doesn't handle pointcloud without plugin and I have the plugin however which is cloud2max. I just don't know how to make pointcloud from that vraysamplerinfo or any other way that would simulate a 3D laser scan like model!
