Camera Animation?? Post Work Cheat

I have a general question regarding key framing a camera zoom and post work. My example is I have a camera slowly zooming in on a object over a 10 second period.

Do I have two options on how to do this?

1) Use image in After Effects and just fake the camera zoom in the timeline using motion effects?
2) Or...Batch render all 240 frames from Maya and composite in After Effects/Premiere?

I may be way off base here...but I am just thinking of ways to speed my workflow when I can.

Any advice would be extremely helpful!!

If the camera is moving towards the object, it looks different than zoom. In that case, you would not simply be able to zoom into a picture and get the same result.

If you zoom in in AE, you will be losing quality as it would be digital zoom. The only way to "preserve" quality would be to render a very high resolution still (much higher than your final video output), and zoom into that in AR

Thanks! I am most likely going to render each frame out. 360 frames for a 15 second clip.

If the zoom is of a static shot then you could just render one high resolution image and scale that in after effects.

Alternatively if there is animation and its subtle then you might get away by rendering less frames per second and using After Effects frame blending to fill in the gaps.
