Hi,
head over to the Vray forum, they are your best resource when it comes to this kind of problem.

Cheers

TR/Vray works perfectly well for animations but TR/Vray does not currently work for still images like it does with c4d's native renderer. Like Srek says the vray forum is the place to go for support, head over there to discuss your problems and you'll get help to get it working. And you'll find much more info and what they may do in future releases to support TR further.

I believe the new version of VRAY has distributed rendering...or at least that's what the website says. Which seems like it's supposed to work very much like team render for single frame rendering.

first to clarify - are you talking about VRAY 1.2.6 or the just released VRAY 1.8?

Minus the part where you have to use native VRay (or baked C4D) shaders, because that distributed renderer works directly through the VRay standalone.

This is major disappointment for me because C4D's procedural shaders play a big part in my VRay workflow, especially for blending textures and the few specialist plugin based shaders that exist out there.

Support for Team Render would definitely be the preferred route for me.

That's the way I see it also.

I tried to install and get the VrayforC4D version 1.8 running - well, it's still a beta IMO with too many bugs and it's far from being a handy package or a one click DR solution (wish list).

The advantage of DR is that you should be able to mix with other 3D apps.
