Animation - Rotation around local axis?

Hey Everyone,

I think this is a really common problem. I only have it once in a while but I can't find the answer anywhere.

I have a wheel in my scene which is slightly slanted. Now when I want to make this wheel spin. I go into rotation mode, use the local axis and start animating it. Now when I play the animation, it's not using the local axis to get from key to key - but it's using all of the axis making a completely different move.

How can I make sure that it only spins around one axis? Can I constrain it somehow?

thank you for your help

Link it to a dummy, tilt the dummy, rotate the wheel.
