how adobe handles information/features and communication with users

todd kopriva has been an awesome representative to the AE community, and is an asset to both adobe and the AE users with his presence on the AE List-Serve

look how awesome adobe AE information and feedback has been, users are involved and get heard - not only have they had 4 or 5 bug fix releases for AE CC (no waiting months for issues to be resolved) but they are actually open and not afraid to discuss bugs, app information, features requests and future app direction

http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects...uests-2013.html

for this coming year, i hope maxon could see this example with an open mind and maybe see that it will not be the end of the world to be more open, share information, bug information, and future ideas with it's users to create a much more involved user base outside of it's beta team - especially after the R15 release which i think was not a great situation for either maxon nor the user base, i would hope maxon may see it was a sign that the current methods are either outdated or not working as well as they used to.

here's hoping for great new things for maxon in 2014

and happy new year to maxon and all the C4D users too.

Have to say I hate Adobe since they went CC and got rid of the perpetual licenses as an option. The software has been more buggy and the license system is a nightmare so much so I have reverted back to an older version of CS. Cinema R15 while not the most exciting update has been solid. Their support has been great as well, while Adobe tech support is a joke at the moment.

(My opinion)

i can't say i disagree with you about any of those points really, while adding that maxon MSA has not been all that it has been sold to be in many ways, and buggy, well... R15 is not for my use, especially if you compare to how rock solid C4D was back in V7, V8 the trend is not a super trend for bug free

but the point i was showing was wouldn't it be great if maxon and C4D could be as open at the example? i mean if a huge company like adobe can do that with AE, wouldn't it be great if C4D could do it?

Agreed on all counts, though I have to side with Gary on the update speed vs stability, I'd rather have them spend a bit more time cooking them up and checking them, than constantly pushing them out every few weeks with fix after fix; as frustrating as the waiting is.
