MoGraph Extrude Deformer madness!!

I have a low poly sphere as you can see in the image that has 7 Extrude Deformers applied to it, each with a single poly selection tag. I only have one active in the image and it is causing me severe pain! It's making a nearby poly jut out for some odd reason. I have checked the selection tag over and over again, created a new one, I even deleted the problem poly and it just jutted out at some other random location. Weird. All the other deformers are behaving normally.

Any ideas on a fix?

That's one of the bugs of the Extrude Deformer... IIRC polygon number 0 of the mesh is messed up depending on the settings, and it can happen with other polys as well.

Post it on Maxon's support page. The more people report a bug, the more likely they'd fix it.

As for a temporary fix... I'd split the part that gets extruded into a separate mesh and apply the Extrude Deformer, then use a Connect Object to combine the extruded mesh and the original one.
Do what you want to do, not what you think you want to do.

I wondered if it might not be a bug. It was working so well then bam, hours of tweaking to no avail. Oh well. Anyway, I tried to do what you suggested and it moved the problem somewhere else. I'm not sure I followed your instructions correctly as modeling is my weak area. I think I'll just live without that one extrusion.

Here's the file and I will report it to Maxon.

Thanks for your help.
