THREAD for phoenix FD?
Anyone interested in starting a permanent thread for Chaosgroup's Phoenix FD?
I've been taking a look at it and it seem to be pretty nice and simple to use.
Allows displacement mapping after sims and also is great with vray and GI.
A very quick test i did was this nuke with one vray dome light and a hdri map...
Posting another test tomorrow...

I suppose you could ask a moderator to rename the Aura thread (it is a sticky already in the subforum) as it was a precursor to Phoenix FD.

I recently got a license for Phoenix FD and I'm very impressed. It's fairly easy to get good results right away for many things, like flames or pouring liquids, and the viewport update is fantastic- you can pretty much interact with it in real time unless it's a really big simulation.
However, I'm having issues with generating bodies of liquid. Following the very brief explanation in the Phoenix guide, I either get bodies of water that seem to evaporate or drain away very quickly, or others that explode and overflow. If anyone else is using Phoenix FD I would be very interested to discuss how they've found it.
