@Holt: Thanks very much for your feedback. I rotated the hips, elongated the face, and followed your advice with the cloth. Thanks again for your help!

Hey guys,

Well I did my best. Thanks to everyone for your feedback to help me improve this. I spent around 25 hours total on the model, and it could definitely use some improvement. I started the model in Maya, but moved over to XSI because I was more familiar with the rigging tools. I'm a pretty useless character modeler, so this was a great learning exercise.

AJ1 looks great man! Love the sweep of the coat and the debonair slant of the hat.
Congrats on finishing.

A sterling effort, and I'm surprised you don't feel you are a useful modeller. Its a solid job, my friend.

Really good job. Actually is almost tv animation level. Really well done job.

@Chris: Thank you sir! Thanks awfully for your continued feedback, and congratulations on your Mila character. Those details are wicked sharp! Looking at work like that has been really motivating for me.

@Boone: Thanks! We'll I think I'm a useless character artist because I really don't have a firm grasp on anatomy, pose, emotion, character, balance, and whatever else you need to make appealing characters. On a technical level, I'm not very familiar with Zbrush. But every time I make something like this, I get a little stronger in those areas. This is probably only the 3rd or 4th character I've ever made.

@Robert: Thanks! I really like your Hepburn as Catwoman character! Your thread has been great to follow, and massively informative and inspirational. Its been great watching you go from initial concept, through sculpting, retopologizing, posting, and final renders. Thanks for sharing your progress.

Sorry I haven't had much feedback about other peoples work. I've mostly been a spectator in this, and I do appreciate everyone taking time to offer me feedback. I'll probably spend a few more hours here and there to clean up the model, and maybe adjust the pose a little bit. Should I continue to update this thread, or start posting over in the 3D WIP forum?

Thanks again,
AJ

Well, I certainly hope to see your next character in a future HMC. Anyway, take a break for now. You've earned it.

This thread won't go away but it won't be visible. If you're going to continue it better to start something in WIP and link back to this one.

Good finish and good luck.
