i need help with my rig

I'm using Maya 8.5 and i used the digital tutors character rig tutorials for the rig. i have modify it for my needs. however, i have run into some problems. when i rotate the global control; the hips rotate, the bends and the left or right arm bends. i can fix the hips by re doing the spline IK but then the IKs for shoulder pull away from the rig. i'm not sure how to fix this.

i another problem i'm having is when i rotate the back or chest control the shoulders don't rotate properly. i'll post pictures of what i'm talking about, so you can see it. any help would appreciated. thank you.

It's kind of hard to tell with the information given. Either something isn't parented correctly or you have a constraint where you shouldn't. I'd try unparenting the arms from the spine and see if they still bend when you twist the spine/hips. If they are then it is probably a constraint or connection gone wrong. Start deleting those until it stops. Then rebuild the problem area's connections.
