Skin Animation

Hello I am new here so hello to you all I hope my time here is both fun and enlightening for us all. Anyway I have a question about animating skin in Maya 2011 and 2012. I am attempting to create an animation of a hand slapping a face in slow motion but I want to do it with physics simulations by that I mean that I want the hand to hit the face and deform the skin realistically on both the hand and the face without manually editing the locations of the vertices on either mesh. This is because it would take a lot of time to do so and I would like to learn more about dynamics and ndynamics anyway. If someone could give me a walk through or direct me to a decent tutorial I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time and it is nice to meet you all in advance!
