Advice on how to model a detailed top of a bottle

Hi!

Please, take a look to the attachment, you can see the top of the bottle.
I'm interest on how to model the "gold metal paper" that cover the cork.
In any other situation I would start in max with a low poly geomtry and then go in mudbox or something similar to detailed it, but in this case I have the illustrator 2d file of the paper, and it's important that mantein it.

So I've started to sketch the 2d open "metal gold paper" with the spline tool, and tried using the cloth modifier to put it around the neck but with no a big success, so I'm here to ask you how you would do that: model the cover metal gold paper manteining correct UV accordly with the 2d illustrator image of the label (in the way that if the client want's to change something in the label it will be very fast and easy).

Thanks a lot!

I think what I'd try first is take the uved plane, making sure it matches the size and shape of the original. Then drape it over the cork with a cloth sim. That will wrap it around roughly and should prevent it stretching too much. Then I'd collapse it or snapshot it. Then I would take it into Mudbox or Zbrush and sculpt the scrunched up version using that draped mesh as a starting point.

You could try and do something complicated with the cloth sim. Try to replicate foil and use a scrunching proxy object to pinch it up. But if it's only a still that seems like a lot of work.
