Anatomy for beginners...
Hi
I have just recently dipped into the world of art - by starting sketching and 3D modelling. Although I have steadily been increasing my modelling skills, I have been unable to find a good source for learning the human anatomy - and since Im not really a student of Art or anything - I dont even know where to begin, or how to study anatomy. What is the best starting point in learning anatomy? Is there an industry standard book I should pick up? Or a set of really good tutorials? P.S. Ive started drawing from life daily - but id like to speed up the process by actually studying the human anatomy in my free time. What is the best way to do this? |

well websites just are hard to find.... anyways what you could do to learn it is:
- sketch people (you should do this very precise so you get to know anatomy a bit and after that you need to practice to get faster at it... at the end you should be able to make an anatomical correct (so without many details) within 10 minutes... - study anatomy from books (they discribe where the muscles are how the skeleton is build up and much much more... I personally use anatomy for artists and some manga books... of course I only use the stuff that's anatomical correct out of those manga books :P).... - if you cg a pic you have sketched there is a trick to see if the anatomy is correct just mirror it and you'll see much more faults (it'll look like what an other person would see when they are looking at it.... they say, but it really works ![]() I personally would start of with the basic body shape (so torso head and limbs) and leave the hands and feet alone for a while because they are extremely hard to draw. Posting your anatomical stuff on a forum like this one will help you getting feedback on your anatomical works.... and there are sp,e tutorial on cgtalk that you could learn from...... I hope this helps? __________________
