Dataoperator multiply random scale issue

Hey everyone. I have this data operator where I'm using a Sine function to affect the particle scale over time, and I want to create variations among the particles using a Random node or Scalar with variation.

I thought I had this figured out, multiplying with a Random/Scalar and selecting only particles new in the event to prevent the random to change over time. However it also stops the Sine function to change over time and I can't figure out how to fix it.

How to properly solve this?

'Save' the random to a custom output first and then use a custom input.
