Question Good Wordpress themes for a portfolio site?

Hi, I'm moving my personal portfolio website (not my CGsociety one ) , from basic HTML to Wordpress land. I've had a look for good portfolio themes but I haven't found anything perfect yet.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

With wordpress, it depends what you want to do with it. Are you blogging or just want a portfolio site? Once you hook it up, there are hundreds of options, and they all can be customized.

I use Goodlayer Architecture.

But don't everyone use it!

NB: There's still a couple of issues with thumbnails as I migrate from my last word press theme!

Theme Forest has pretty good portfolio driven themes. Check them out.

I love the themes from Nick Cates Designs (not sure of the spelling) and his stuff is all very graphic oriented, with huge intro images and great style.

Definitely agree. I have got mine from Themeforest as well, see below in my signature.
Tons of choice, bet you'll find something to your liking there!

If your using word press for your portfolio just keep it simple. This will be your portfolio website the people viewing are suppose to focus on your work and not everything around it make sure not to have any kind of background that takes away from your work
