C4D revamped core will be Linux able?

Anyone knows if Maxon is revamping the core of C4D to be Linux able?

Doubt it. Maxon doesn't want to have to offer support for Linux.  They used to have a Linux version limited to Studios but they stopped offering it.  Too many Distros for them to compile for although other companies seem to not have a problem doing it.

They defo still do a Linux build. I do not know the politics of who they will sell it to.  Best to just call them, and ask.

I was told by Maxon that they no longer offer it.  Maybe just not to MSA paying peons like me but only to Studios?  I gave up on the idea and work with Houdini and Realflow in Linux and come back to Windows when I need to do some C4d work.  If they do in fact compile for Linux I don't see why they don't just offer it as an unsupported "at your own risk" download for those that are interested.

Maxon would be the ones to ask for further info. With my comment, I just wanted to clip any rumor that Linux c4d had somehow been discontinued.

Thank you both, they might  only go there if Adobe goes too. But Blender is in Linux, Samsung is now offering possibility of Linux distros to work with Dex https://www.xda-developers.com/sams...laxy-for-dex/   and with phones getting more powerful sooner or later they will be able to do more than  basic 3D work.
On another hand this also makes possible for more efficient virtualization. Also it seems Windows on ARM is coming.

Cinema 4D is currently only available as a native Linux version for commandline rendering under a special license. A workstation version is not available and afaik currently not planned.

It is sad and one of the reasons why i gave up on C4d years ago.
IMHO it is a mistake.
With the exception of Max and Z-brush most 3D tools are on Linux.
