Feels the need for speed!portfolio
Bristol, UK & Berlin, Germany
Hey chaosmonger - did you solve the problem completely?
I seem to have the same board and CPU - I've applied the hotfixes and updated my BIOS and still vray renders slowly.
Did you get to rendering properly?
It's so strange - for me it seems to be vray issue.
Mental ray is comparable to my my i7 3770k to my 8350 - but in vray the AMD is half the speed.
What else did you do to speed it up?
edit: for future reference, this rendering slowdown happens only during an irradiance map/ brute force prepass... it is then that the renders are slower.
Once you have calculated the irradiance map etc the normal frames are rendered at the speed they should be.
