Screwed up my viewport and am stuck...

Yelp!

I had a random click while slipping of a key event and screwed up my navigation.
I cannot select anything and any move only dollies the camera around. Upp er right view port buttons work. I can select in the object browser but cannot select the move/scale/rotate tool...
To humor me and make my Saturday as pleasant as possible the system decided to save that setting with the scene. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Ideas on how to unscrew myself are greatly appreciated...

Could be entertaining.... if nothing else to do... hit any key while wildly clicking around and then try to solve that rubics cube of settings back so you can work...

I could not find a "factory reset" either. Seems not to be my day...

Thanks in advance for a hint...
Rainer

Sounds like you're using the virtual walkthrough tool, weird.

Could you maybe save out the scene with just one cube in it, so we can check it out?

In the meantime, I'd suggest copy/pasting everything in a new scene.

It is not scene related 8(((...
When I try and select something, then the object is highlighted white...
Never saw that before. But I cannot select it with a click, or drag it.
No indication on the screen in which friggin special mode I am in.

Have you tried rebooting your machine?
There's an old bug that locks C4D to one tool, it might be manifesting a different way for you.
Usually only a restart solves this.

That was it... Reboot was necessary. Not even restart of C4D.
Pffffff

Thanks!!!

OK, great. That bug is a pain, has been there since I started beta testing (10 years ago), and we could never pinpoint the source (which I suspect lies in HID devices in correlation with C4D's code).

That's a tough one. I tried to hit a key and must have hit a control key as well while pressing a mouse key. Who knows which system got into which state. I'd not even go so far and entirely blameC4D. All this is rather complex to say the least. C4D and friends are about the most complex pieces of Software I ever laid my hands on...

Thanks again!
Rainer

PS: I am having a lot of fun right now using Aurety's old SciFi shader together with the Greebler... That's a great combo.

Link please, to this very exciting shader! I've been getting a kick out of Greebler without any special magic shader, but I am interested to see just how my life can be improved with it. If you please, in your spare time.
