Corel Painter: 3 rank nozzle creation

Hi all,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm trying to create 3-rank nozzle for an image hose & I just don't have a clear understanding of the process.

Does anyone know of a good step-by-step tutorial?

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

In Painter 12 (and similar instructions apply for earlier Painter versions):

  1. Use Help menu > Help Topics.
  2. When Help Topics opens, go to the top of the left panel, click the Search tab, and type "3 rank nozzle" (without the quotes).
  3. Click the Go! button and a list of titles appears below the search box.
  4. Click the first title, Creating, Loading, and Saving Nozzles for the Image Hose.
  5. In the right panel, there's lots of information and I suggest you read through all of the items until you get down to reading about how to create a 3 rank nozzle. That will give you a more full understanding and make your goal easier to reach.
  6. You might decide to read everything on the page. It couldn't hurt, after all.

Good luck, and have fun!

Hi Jin,

I did go through the instructions on how to create the 3 rank hose using Painter's help prior to posting here. I couldn't get the settings to take.

Here is the sample file. Each leaf is in it's own layer.

From my understanding, I should enter 4 for rank 1, 64 for rank 2 & 1 for rank 3
for the set-up that I have- but it won't let me create the image hose.

So what step am I missing to get this to work?

Am I suppose to merge certain layers together?
