Select the plugin tag, then lock your AM. You can select the vertex map to display the changes in real time (just a limitation of how C4D works).

Thanks! Now it works. I was locking the vertexmap instead of the topo tag.

I don't need this plugin - yet - but I'm showing my solidarity by buying Voxygen. Just completed my order and awaiting my key.

I wish I could do more! If I can find a reason to buy more of your plugs with the work I'm doing, I'll buy them.

Thanks for sticking with the C4d community, Paul. I'll chip in when I can!

OK, I ordered my copy of the Topo plug - primarily to support Paul and encourage him to keep coding (and you all should too - buy something from him, we need great developers), but also because it seems like a useful plugin even though I don't really understand what it does (I'm particularly interested in the AO stuff)

And to that point - I totally agree with what Chris said. I lean a bit towards the "not that technical" crowd of C4D users (which I actually think there are a lot of), and would love a few tips, basic steps, workflows, or example files to get me going with this. Then I'll try to make a new example image or something to help someone else get interested, and so on.

Paul's a coder, we need his code, we can help with CrowdMarketing™!

select the topo tag
lock the AM (that silly padlock icon)
select the vertex map
you can now see the vertex map and adjust the Topo map tags parameters.
you could also just make a second AM and lock the topo tag to it.

you could also add some of those settings to the viewport HUD

I only just now noticed the plugin is available. Being that its announcement was buried in a multi-page thread it was easy to miss, so don't be too bummed that the poll numbers haven't yet panned out... its only been 2 days. I am definitely going to order it, but must wait until my next paycheck, one week from today. Please don't give up, Paul... your work is amazing, I think it's just your marketing that needs help.

Do consider that for the survey the answers didn't correlate to immediate action. I do plan on buying this and using it in future personal/freelance projects, especially my latest personal stuff, but I'm also doing crazy OT on studio work trying to keep my employer in business so buying the plugin this month, is a very low priority since I won't even be able to use it for at least a month.

I'm probably going to buy it in the near future, too. That said, a "will you buy" poll with no price listed is somewhat worthless, since anyone doing this for business is deciding on a cost/benefit analysis.

I'll support this too and all your future plugins if they interest me, as they often do.

Paul, can you make this available on your main page?

Paul provided a dropboxfolder with example files so that's already a good place to start when you don't want to figure it all out yourselves. Thanks Paul!

Great plugin Paul! Just got my copy. Perfect!

Is there a way to feed the vertex map into a channel on the diffuse that makes it visible in realtime? I can't seem to find a way :(

Paul, I'm a little confused by the 'Tools4D Vertex Map' shader, in that it seems to only support a single vertex map. My intention would be to stack multiple maps for experimentation. Of course I can use the built in vertex map shader and some layer masks, but I like your built in gradient here.
