Why was this unit not in the games? It looks awesome.
Then again, the only thing I ever did like to do in the game was cheap Chimera spam. :P

Like a lot of people here, I grew up knowing Macross/Robotech and anime from that time frame. I did play Battletech but I find most of their originals not that interesting, and the ones that were interesting were actually from series like Macross and Crusher Joe. I do like the original Atlas though. It at least had some character.
Plus I find the mecha in Battletech just too slow. I like a more nimbler machine like you see in Gundam, Five Star Stories, Patlabor etc.
Ones I haven't seen mentioned yet are from the game Armored Core.
Another table top game like Battletech is Heavy Gear. Smaller mecha and more nimble. I haven't really played it though. Just seen some of the images. (couldn't find a good link.)
War Hammer 40K Epic scale has some impractical but creative designs. (couldn't find a good link but I liked some of the eldar and chaos designs. They seemed of have a bit more fun with them.)
One of my favorite Gundam mechs is not one that actually appeared in the anime at all as far as I know. Xeku Zwei, big, fat and loaded.
I didn't mind the mecha in Escaflowne as well but if you are going total fantasy then Five Star Story mecha designs are hard to beat IMO.

Necrons were in the game ofcourse.

Actually there is a Grey Knights mod!
And the last picture is a dreadknight, which released past year.
And I only Necron or Orc spammed!
