mental ray probs

hi can anyone see what the problem is in the attached file? im using the personal learning edition of maya 8.5. the black area is where the model should be instead of black image. whats up and how cvan i solve this problem?

hers a pic and some idea whats going on with mental ray

hi

ok heres the problem i am using HDR lighting in my scene. there is a model surrounded by a large poly sphere and a pic of a famous landmark taken during daytime. IPR is the render option i use and thats when i get the black where the model should be. do you think that the personal learning edition of maya doesnt allow this feature?

It's not a limitation of PLE (since it has everything the commercial version does), it's a limitation of the IPR.

Do a full render to see proper lighting (assuming you have FinalGather also enabled...)
