I'm working on this guy's hair.
I'm using 3ds max 2009 with mental ray.
lighting for the test are with mr Area Spot with Ray traced shadows.
the hair was created with "hair and fur" and it's rendering with mr prim (not with buffer).
I posted some comments on the pic.
the main issue or problem is with his forehead hair.
i want the forehead hair to be a thinning hair and gentle and in the same time to be
very clearly. in the result, you can see that the hair is transparent and as a result,
we can see the mesh of the head through the hair. i want every hair there to be calculated
in a clearly way like reality, so we will not see the head through the hair.
when i'm adding a lot of hair, the amount of the hair hide the forehead,
but i don't want him to have a lot of hair. the quality of the samples doesn't change the transparent hair.
for the material of the hair i'm using 3 passes (passes -- value of 3), but even with value
of 1, its almost the same.
maybe there is something with the rendering options that i'm missing?
maybe a shader for the hair will help?
if someone knows something about that issue? any tips? solution? or even just another tips for using the hair and fur, i would be more than happy to read.
