sss mental ray problem

Unhappy sss mental ray problem

Heres the thing i am making an animation of some roses using the misss_fast_skin shader, everything looks beautiful but when I batch render the roses get much brighter at a few specific frames, its always the same frames even with different cameras and from different places.

Has this happened to anyone before?? and if so, is there a workaround? please i need to make a delivery soon!!

I am using maya 2013.

Could you elaborate what you are using to render your scene? Mental ray? Could you post a snapshot of the image and let us see what is gong on.

Yes I am on mental ray heres a posting of the problem:





from one frame to another and in varying frames, not many but they are there, always the same frames.

Are you using FG or GI?

Using final gather, i got 1 directional light with depthmap shadows and 2 area lights with raytrace shadows.

Have you tried the directional light with ray traced shadows (no depth map shadows)? I have had issues in the past with sss and depth map shadows and dark splotches on skin.

Well, because I had a deadline, I resolved the issue by going back to maya 2011 (since I don't have 2012) that basically did it, why? beats me! thanks though.
