Question about and external element in model

Hi! I have a question. About this image.

Seeing the character I notice he has a yellow vest. These external element (yellow vest) in character was modeled in maya or zbrush?
Because he has many geometric shapes.

As usually the Maya used to low poly. I am in doubt whether it was actually created in maya or zbrush.

Maya is not restricted to low polygon models, it could have been done in Maya or zbrush, depends on the artist's choice.

I watched another video and saw that a character item same as this was created by Maya. As a separateD object. But I understand that.
And I also think that would be kinda hard for zbrush making holes in the vest.
I'm sure it was by Maya. Using great modeling skills.
Thank you.
