AFAIK Modo's biggest cash cow right now seems to be its rendering engine's adoption in the CAM/CAE circles, more so than just its modelling toolset for the more artistic/creative industries.

Linux has a relatively restriced domain of users in CGI, and for the majority of that domain there is literally no alternative to Softimage or Maya yet for a lot of stuff, and those who benefit from Houdini already use it.
A small subset of functionalities might overlap between Modo, Mudbox and 3DCoat (both available on linux, unlike ZB, which however mostly runs fine through Wine), but not enough to be a threat yet.

The people who can use Modo and other non AD apps end to end enough to forego completely using Maya or Soft are very unlikely to be using something other than Win or OS-X.

Nonetheless, if anybody can at some point take a serious stab at AD's market in film and animation of all formats, that's the foundry, so anything they do to cover more ground in linux is welcome AFAIC.

Mudbox + foundry products that huge threat to autodesk in the far future because they listen to their customers ,second like autodesk they not windows only company and the reason that linux dont have a large number of users that because linux dont have large selection of software like windows BUT in this days i see more and more company developing for linux and software like modo that its just cost 1200 dollar, i think that product like this was missing to linux community because its cheaper than maya and soft (no everybody need the fetures that maya and soft have) and modo modeling tools compare to soft and maya ...well you know the answer to that and three you know the sentence "you do it first i do it better" thats about modo developers .
