I'm sure artists here if they had 500,000 or maybe even less could turn out some great stuff that looks like it had a 20 or 30 million dollar budget.

Prime example...and this was a great movie by the way.


Another one but a little more expensive

Although I want to see if someone can do it without the shaky cam "found footage" style approach.

I'm sure there are artists here who if given a million dollar budget could definately come up with something better than

That Troll Hunter image looked clean enough to me not to count as "found footage".

The way things are going quite a few houses can probably "pull a Skyline"... and make better margins (even with smaller distribution).

Troll Hunter is an extremely well done film, but it is definitely in the found footage genre. It is about a University documentary crew doing their thesis project and they follow around a troll hunter documenting what he does. We only see what their cameras capture. Sometimes they put the camera down somewhere so there are clean still shots.

I do have a high res, maybe 8MP of that photo, but I have so many these days, finding it would be a bitch (That was over a year ago). I pulled that low res from my website because it happened to be there.

I don't know if I mentioned it earlier in his thread, but Hunter Prey makes a great case for how a low budget film (sub $500,000 from what I read) should be done. If SyFy were regularly doing stuff like that who knows how big it could get. Unfortunately, I have never found any information on how much money Hunter Prey has made.

Intentionally making junk is not the answer. I think most people here, and many not here, as proven by shorts like Rosa, R'Ha and Ruin, can make something amazing without the need for millions of dollars or major studio backing.
