Replace a view port in Maya

Hello, Im making an "editor" in Maya for a game in DirectX 11. This means that I create the geometry and export it to the game real-time.
The problem is that I have 2 windows (maya and directX application) and I would like if possible to incorporate the resulting color buffer of my game to a Maya view port. The DirectX 11 application is not incorporated in the plugin. I was thinking to get data from Maya with the plugin to detect the corner of the viewport and place the application over maya but this seems too hardcoded. Any tips ?
