![]() Hi all
Here's a quick motion tracking test I did a while back (without sound). I manually tracked it from 2 cams with Autodesk MatchMover. The 3D SA-7 launcher was modelled in max from reference pics. The shadows on the launcher was made from couple of animated flat planes with opacity mapped leaves to simulate the foilage from the live footage. I didn't get to the final smoke and other pyro just yet. Also I still need to do the rotoscoping. The SA-7 mockup was homemade from cut wooden strips nailed, glued and cable-tied together. The tracking points were glued into place and it's just polystyrene balls picked up from the local arts and crafts shop. The Super Puma Heli is a purchased Turbosquid model that I manually animated, although the flight after the turn could be smoother. The live footage was done with an old consumer dv cam and an old 8mm cam. http://youtu.be/GNJ5dnpYPpg I know it has a long way to go to complete, so for now I'm mainly interested in comments about the motion tracking please. __________________

Your acting is good. Physical and otherwise.
The texture shading on your weapon looks a bit flat. Too much ambient lighting or color on it? The weapon and helicopter don't look CG, so you're already mostly done. Looking forward to the VFX. __________________
