Apply a bump texture into a solid 3D model. Is it possible?
Hello everyone,
I've been reading CGtalk for some time but now I have a problem I'd like to share with you so maybe I can find a solution. I usually work with parametric 3D modelling software (SolidEdge, Solidworks and so on). Imagine that I have a solid 3D model (which I can print in 3D) that simulates the trunk profile of a tree. However, I want to represent in this trunk its characteristic rugosities through a bump map similar to the one I would use for rendering. But, at the same time, I want to keep that solid 3D model and be able to print it in 3D (so, a surface or a mesh with no thickness is not and option). Is there any software that allows me to do this? Thank you in advance. |
