Can you use the mouse to rotate

pan and zoom? I don't see any icons for them. Using keyboard short cuts is a pain for me. Can you use the mouse for everything? Being a quadriplegic....I don't have the use of my fingers. I use a Kensington trackball mouse. There is no mouse wheel. I couldn't use it even if it did.

Unfortunately not without losing the ability to make selections with the mouse.

Silo really requires a 3 button mouse plus modifier keys to much use as a modeller.
Some basic silo tutorials

Thank you for your reply.

This sucks. I wonder if Nevercenter will give me a refund.

press alt plus left button and you can ROTATE view
press alt plus press roller or mid you can PAN view
press alt plus roller and you can ZOOM in-out the view

by time youll use at least the E R W keys changing the universal selector modes
also the X for dividing edges and faces
the 1 5 keys for the perspective and ortho top view

it pending on time..

while hexagon has way more option, i misisng the keys really..

by time youll be able to develop a great workflow without distraction of million icons..
also a point beside keys, after certain use of computer you dont look for keys.. your hand find them, like gears in the car within drivign..
versus icons, you always has to looking for..

I also have limited mobility, I have nerve damage in one arm.

I use a wacom tablet and have a lot of trouble using a keyboard, this really cuts down on workflow. Anytime tools are usable with only a mouse and onscreen controls, things are a lot better.

An onscreen trackball or navigation widget (or buttons to do so) would be great.

The windows 'Sticky Keys' is great, but as I understand it, some functionality changes if its used.

im really sorry , I didn't read more carefully this topic..

there are a couple of program around net that mouse can be controlled with voice commands..

please check on the e-speaking website.. to see if that could help.. its a free program without adware..

there around many caring folks for help..

im not sure if any modeling program at this time exist for disabled folks..

another way you could try to get in this world, the Microsoft Kinect working with a very intelligent motion sensing..
if you able to lift your hand and send signals that wil work for you..

some another way could be a touchpad you could use your feet..

im sure there are ways.. America caring on disabled people..

my concern is not only about using silo, what I think at this moment the simplest most effective 3dmodeler, but enabling you to the digital modeling..

some more help you can get, google for Kinect..

Kinect itself the original primesense modified version..

its practically scan the roomsized area, and trough windows development it recognizes arms, hands..
while originally Microsoft developed for xbx games, by its popularity and for hacks its got out to the public for every kind of use..,2817,2470855,00.asp

so , dear folsk just don't give up so easy.. think on bethoween , the genius that he lost his hearing, and despite this, he continued to composing music ..

I am able to model in most applications. It isnt so much needing 'a modeling software for the disabled' as it is 'needing the ability to work in different ways'. UI customization is pretty important, for almost anyone.

I can do most anything, its just a matter of How I will go about it.

in short, more options is better

I think something that would go a long way, is add 3d Connexion 3d mouse support (space navigator etc) and possibly expose a lot of those 'Mouse Only" commands in the customization menus of silo. I do not understand why rotation and panning are mouse only...
