Image Planes Consistent lighting from all angles?

1. When using a plane with an image/movie clip on, viewing from different angles shows different lighting on that plane.
- What is the best way to keep the light consistent on an image plane you're using as reference in a scene, so that the lighting of that plane does not change?

Thankyou.

For the planes - Attribute Editor>Render Stats - Turn off everything.

Create a Lambert material for the planes and set Diffuse to 0 and turn ambient to 50% or so.

You will also want to turn on backside culling for the planes and then put them in a display layer and set the layer to 'Reference'.

Hey there, thanks for reply.

I tried these things, but when you rotate to look at the plane from a more sideways angle, it is still much darker. So whilst it doesn't go completely black, it's still getting darker which is not right.

This does not happen with the Image planes, (Which is what I'm trying to re-create)

People use planes for effects like fire smoke etc too, but when you rotate the camera view, they remain at the same lighting levels, for example you'd never want an animated fire texture to get darker when you are viewing from more of a sideways perspective.
